Do you heard about Green City?? I agree with the government to launch this project..In Malacca, the green technologies city had launched to make sure the natural resources will be maintained..

What is the GREEN CITY??

Green City Project is dedicated to increasing the compatibility of cities with their local natural systems by providing resources to link individuals and group with each other and community-based ecological activities.

Source from the The Star: The Government realises that countries adopting sustainable energy and green technology will be winners in the 21st century as it will 

be the core of economies. This is not an option but a reality that all nations must face.

If we think for the long term, our natural resources will be dissapeared..let's think about it..

Global Warming

Now a day, global warming is become a big problem to us..almost everyday the temperature in Malaysia is above 30 celcius..we can feel the hot even we stay inside the house..

This is occur because of human..no need to blame others..See the picture above..the ice start to melt down..that why Tsunami can happen..Impact from that, we only can see the destroy of earth..

The causes of global warming is Carbon Dioxide emissions. CO2 is being pumped into our atmosphere at an insane pace; 8 billion tons of CO2 entered the air last year. Of course some of this is due to natural activity such as volcanic eruptions and people breathing. But the Earth is equipped to easily absorb those into the normal regenerative process. No, the beginning of global warming was caused by fossil fuels being burned and emitting plenty of CO2.

CO2 is the primary causes of global warming..There have another causes of global warming..Global warming happen when the ozone become deplete..so, the sun rays will go through to the earth directly..we can get skin irritation ( skin become reddening)

Moreover, to reduce global warming..minimize of using products that will produce CFC(chloroflorocarbon),standardize the industries to use the filter at the chimney..and many more..but actually the human attitude will indicate how pollute the earth..so, human must change it to keep longer the earth life..:)

Hello everybody..do you know how to answer my question?? hmm..today our environment is going bad..how to overcome it..huh!! see i as an environmental student also blur how to settle it..many people do not care about the environment..before we do something that relate to environment..we must see the aspect and impact..

Do you imagine, if we can maintain our environment like this..so beautiful right? everytime we must think about environment..because it is most important to us..without environment..we cannot survive in our life..

Human must change the attitude ok!! no more can change the environment except human..

Selfish

I know most of you had known this word right??

Some person like to be selfish because they just focus to make the profit without thinking about the environment..

Do not care about environment..

But!!

They forgot..for example lodging activity..if they cut all trees..no more oxygen will produce..hmm..human need oxygen to survive..THINK ABOUT IT!!

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries/territories officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.

On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.

Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). This Earth Hour we want you to go beyond the hour, so after the lights go back on think about what else you can do to make a difference. Together our actions add up.

Smoke from industries can pollute the air that can cause haze..

Smoke from the vehicle also contribute to pollute the air..

Open burning is one of the source to pollute the air..

Oil spill can cause pollution in the water..

Throw rubbish everywhere can effect the content of soil

Can Imagine If Rain In Malaysia Consist Radiation?

Hye everybody..today we will discuss about the effects of radiation..i know maybe some of you do not know their effects..so, i will share to you about it..

Effects on Humans

Certain body parts are more specifically affected by exposure to different types of radiation sources. Several factors are involved in determining the potential health effects of exposure to radiation. These include:

• The size of the dose (amount of energy deposited in the body)
• The ability of the radiation to harm human tissue
• Which organs are affected

The most important factor is the amount of the dose - the amount of energy actually deposited in your body. The more energy absorbed by cells, the greater the biological damage. Health physicists refer to the amount of energy absorbed by the body as the radiation dose. The absorbed dose, the amount of energy absorbed per gram of body tissue, is usually measured in units called rads. Another unit of radation is the rem, or roentgen equivalent in man. To convert rads to rems, the number of rads is multiplied by a number that reflects the potential for damage caused by a type of radiation. For beta, gamma and X-ray radiation, this number is generally one. For some neutrons, protons, or alpha particles, the number is twenty.

Hair

The losing of hair quickly and in clumps occurs with radiation exposure at 200 rems or higher.

Brain

Since brain cells do not reproduce, they won't be damaged directly unless the exposure is 5,000 rems or greater. Like the heart, radiation kills nerve cells and small blood vessels, and can cause seizures and immediate death.

Thyroid

The certain body parts are more specifically affected by exposure to different types of radiation sources. The thyroid gland is susceptible to radioactive iodine. In sufficient amounts, radioactive iodine can destroy all or part of the thyroid. By taking potassium iodide can reduce the effects of exposure.

Blood System

When a person is exposed to around 100 rems, the blood's lymphocyte cell count will be reduced, leaving the victim more susceptible to infection. This is often refered to as mild radiation sickness. Early symptoms of radiation sickness mimic those of flu and may go unnoticed unless a blood count is done.According to data from Hiroshima and Nagaski, show that symptoms may persist for up to 10 years and may also have an increased long-term risk for leukemia and lymphoma. Heart

Intense exposure to radioactive material at 1,000 to 5,000 rems would do immediate damage to small blood vessels and probably cause heart failure and death directly.

Gastrointestinal Tract

Radiation damage to the intestinal tract lining will cause nausea, bloody vomiting and diarrhea. This is occurs when the victim's exposure is 200 rems or more. The radiation will begin to destroy the cells in the body that divide rapidly. These including blood, GI tract, reproductive and hair cells, and harms their DNA and RNA of surviving cells.

Reproductive Tract

Because reproductive tract cells divide rapidly, these areas of the body can be damaged at rem levels as low as 200. Long-term, some radiation sickness victims will become sterile.

Dose-rem	Effects
5-20	Possible late effects; possible chromosomal damage.
20-100	Temporary reduction in white blood cells.
100-200	Mild radiation sickness within a few hours: vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue; reduction in resistance to infection.
200-300	Serious radiation sickness effects as in 100-200 rem and hemorrhage; exposure is a Lethal Dose to 10-35% of the population after 30 days (LD 10-35/30).
300-400	Serious radiation sickness; also marrow and intestine destruction; LD 50-70/30.
400-1000	Acute illness, early death; LD 60-95/30.
